Loved it! We went on a Sunday at 6pm and the area felt pretty slow. There is metered parking along the way, idk if it was the day and time we went, but we didn't have any issues. There was no one in the shop when we went so we didn't feel bad sampling and taking a few minutes to decide. I didn't know it was non dairy until I looked it up. I decided to get split scoop cup and the pink guava matcha was soooo good. I've never had anything like it. The combo went really well together. Strong matcha, great guava flavor. Super soft and creamy. I think split scoop is like $11-12. Pricy but for the unique flavors, it's nice to try. The second flavor I got was the blood orange one. FYI both pink guava matcha and blood orange were from their seasonal menu. My bf got Totoro which was sesame and coffee? And the oro blanco which was grapefruit. But I preferred my flavors more :p Super cute store, very aesthetic and cave like. And dayglow coffee is right next door

One of my friends have been raving about this place for a long time now, but I never had a chance to try since I was never in the area. This day, since we were already in LA, we decided to stop by for a quick grab. We were able to get a few samples and I settled with the Dayglow Coffee flavor while my friends got the Gaviota Strawberry flavor. I was so surprised by the fact that the ice cream had no dairy because it was quite creamy and as someone who doesn't love coconut scent too much it was not overpowering at all. I really enjoyed the scoop and I was surprised that the line was reaching the end of the door by the time we finished our scoops. We did go around an hour or so before closing though. It was a little chilly since the location has no door and iz more of like an open booth situation. They had merch on display and a side wall where customers can sit with these little blocks where you can use as side tables. Overall, I would come back and try other flavors id I am in the area. Recommend if you are looking for dairy-free and tasty dessert options!

This is my Bali. Not the Bali you know today, but the Bali I grew up in as a teenager. Before the oceans of plastic, before Cenggu, and when Nusa Dua was the new kid on the block, Bali was pure, simple, and unpretentiously exotic. These scenes were captured in my first discovery bites of every flavor I tried at Awan. I had no idea what to expect when I arrived. I simply found it as the nearest ice cream location on my map position. I guess heaven finally gave me a break. I'd had a rough 2024, and the ice cream angels gifted me a visceral memory of my happy times as a youngster. This wasn't just ice cream. This was my innocence remembered. I can't recommend a single flavor over another. You simply have to try 2-4 samples that they happily provide, and pick a 2-flavor cup. Then come back another time, and repeat. This is the only way to experience Awan. Even the simplest, "plain" vanilla is unlike anything I've ever had before. The original ingredients, the unconventional spice mixes...... it's like describing a modern day Rolls Royce to someone that has only ever driven a Model T-Ford. Just come. Sample. Choose. Enjoy.

This is such a cute spot! Service was good too, staff were nice and friendly. You can try flavors as many as you'd like before purchasing. The interior reminds me of a stone age type of house, like the Flinstones but aesthetic :) Great ice cream selections and reasonable price. Will definitely come back!

Came in on a Thursday night and it was relatively busy! They only have one worker scooping ice cream and taking orders; so please be patient with them! They have very unique and Indonesian inspired flavors! I had the kids scoop Chocolate Oreo and my friend had the Blueberry Lavender. The worker was very kind and scooped a bigger scoop for us since we were waiting in line for more than 10 minutes. It is on the pricier side ($8 for a single scoop), but honestly, in this economy, it's not that bad. Seating is limited and outdoors (it's basically just a small area enclosed with 3 walls). There are no restrooms, but the design and architecture of the place was very aesthetic! I gave this place 4 stars because the ice cream just didn't stand out to me. It was very ordinary, and I'm not sure if I would wait in line again to order it again. I will say that I do appreciate that the ice cream isn't overly sweet!

This ice cream spot is dope. The design is insane--it feels like you're walking into a red mud cave, super simple but crazy photogenic. Definitely one of the most unique ice cream spots I've been to. Everything here is vegan and coconut-based, and the flavors are different but in the best way. Unique combos that actually work, and the texture is so smooth and creamy, you wouldn't even miss dairy. Highly recommend the Vanilla Bean and Blueberry Lavender together--they paired perfectly! Big shoutout to Mo--dude was awesome. He let us sample a bunch of flavors, gave solid recommendations, and was just cool to chat with. All in all, this spot is a must-visit. Great ice cream, dope aesthetic, and chill service. Will definitely be back!

I am still in awe that we walk right into a cave when we enter this space, almost as if I have to realize why I am here. The soft background music definitely adds to that same ambiance. There is a feeling that we just traveled somewhere far away, and all we need to do is just go with it. Snapping out of my trance, I need to remember that I'm writing a review about a place that has very good ice cream, even though they claim it isn't (according to their sign by the sidewalk). They have very unique/ambitious/adventurous flavors. Quite possibly the best I've ever tasted. This place also happens to be vegan-friendly. They add a little bit of flare to your order. You don't just get a scoop. They prepare extra ingredients to compliment the taste and presentation. Parking: definitely street, and there isn't much at the front. FYI: - Seating is available either in front outside or next door @dayglow.
